BINGE EATING DISORDER [BED]

Binge eating is an overeating disorder in which an individual eats a large amount of food in a discrete period of time and feel uncontrollable over the amount of eating.
Binge eating disorder is a type of feeding and eating disorder that’s now recognized as an official diagnosis. 

It influences around 2% of men and 3.5% of ladies around the world and can cause additional health issues linked to diet, such as high cholesterol levels and diabetics.

    Binge eating disorders are not about food alone, which is why they are recognized as psychiatric disorders. It is the most common eating disorder in the united states and people typically develop them as a way of dealing with a deeper issue or another psychological conditions, such as anxiety or depression.

CAUSES
Since it is like mental disorders, it can probably be inherited and it can also be the result of a combination of genetic, physiological and environmental factors. It can also be the result of undesirable effects of any psychiatric medications which stimulate appetite supposedly.

SYMPTOMS
The people who suffering from binge eating disorder may feel embarrassment or disgrace about their eating habits. Some of the physical, behavioural and psychological symptoms  includes;

• Never satisfied, no matter the amount of food consumed.
• Not sleeping well and feeling tired.
• Couldn’t control or stop eating.
• Depression and anxiety
• Sensitive behavior related to food.

TREATMENT
There are three types of treatment which is helpful in treating binge eating disorders [BED]. 

These are;
1. Congnitive behavioral therapy {CBT}: This type of therapy is focused on making the patient understand the thoughts and feelings that influence their behaviours.
2. Interpersonal psycho thetapy {IPT}: In this type, the therapy is focused on teaching the individuals about the relationship with peers, family members and the way they see themselves.
3. Dialectical behavioral therapy {DBT}: This type of therapy will teach the patient  skills to cope with the stress and regulate emotions.

HOW TO OVERCOME BINGING
• Choose healthy foods.
• Start exercising.
• Keep a food and mood diary.
• Practice mindfulness.
• Find someone to talk to.
• Get enough sleep.
