Obesity is now found in children of both sexes and the alarming thing is that it is increasing rapidly.
You are probably wondering what obesity is,
Nutritionally, when a person's BMI is > or equal to 30, such a person is said to be obese.
An obese person carries weight which will affect their health, they are at risk of some types of cancer, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Here are some of the courses of obesity;
* Eating more/taking in more calories and exercising less/expending less energy
* Consumption of unhealthy diet
* Gene is also responsible for obesity; a faulty gene called the fat mass and obesity associated gene (FFO) is also responsible for some cases of obesity.
Obesity, if not taken care of can lead to serious life threatening conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, etc.
Obesity can be treated by
* Surgery
* Watching one's diet
The key to stay healthy and maintain a healthy weight ,eat healthy foods,consume less junk foods and exercise regularly.
