Understanding What a Good Breakfast Should Entail

Kingsley woke up a bit late on a Monday morning. He works as an office assistant with a NGO. This was because he actually slept very late. He pulled out his phone to check the time, with double thoughts crossing his mind at a time, the thought of praying and updates of his social media post the previous night. He succumbed to the temptation of the social media, lost consciousness of time and spent about 27mins on social media.  Kingsley dashed into the bathroom, forgot to brush, couldn't prepare breakfast and rushed to work. His strict boss is surely waiting for him, and a load of responsibilities that won't afford him time to eat healthy food till noon. He kept seeking a fast break to consume a bit of junk food.

Onimoto wakes up 4:00am every morning as a trained Soldier. This time, he was on leave to stay with his family. Nonetheless Onimoto woke up 4:00am this particular morning, stepped out of the house to his compound, he went down flat on the ground to begin his daily round of a hundred and fifty push-ups. He brushed his teeth and placed himself on morning drills for about 40mins. Onimoto returned indoor, took a cup of coffee, and had meditation for about 15mins, focusing on how his day should go. He woke his wife with a kiss, had his morning bodily cleanliness,  took a simple meal of Bread, Groundnut and Milk. Onimoto set out of the house for the personal and unofficial matters that needed his attention.

Let's take a break from the stories.

What is Breakfast?

This is the first meal taken by an individual in the morning. The kind of food you take matters, at the same time the state of your being. A good breakfast is very important, and on days you aren't fasting, it is to be taken in the early hours of the day. Your breakfast breaks your fast.

Without a good breakfast, your body is denied of energy from food and begins to bank on the reserve or energy banks in your body.

Energy-rich foods are important parts of a breakfast. Foods falling under the class of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. These foods help prepare our body for the day's tasks.

Breakfast is important for children and adults alike. And it is important to plan for the kids healthy breakfast just like you plan for yours. Kinds of breakfast taken differs from country to country and culture to culture. Just ensure you are going for a healthy meal and not settling for junks.

.......................................

So back to my story, the difference between Kingsley and Onimoto isn't their professions, the difference is self and personal management. Kingsley doesn't have a control on himself and his devices, these things control him.

Personal management is beyond just how well you carry out your official tasks and responsibilities, but how well you manage your time. Personal management is important for a healthy nutrition. This refers to your time management skills, money management skills, emotional intelligence and so on.

This reflected in Onimoto's routine even when he was out of work. Have a good breakfast, so you won't keep seeking fast breaks in the morning at work.
