*IVF – (In Vitro Fertilization)*

IVF is a process of fertilization, where an egg is combined with sperm outside the body, in vitro (glass). The process involves monitoring and stimulating a woman’s ovulatory process, removing an egg or eggs from the woman’s ovaries and letting sperm fertilize them in a liquid I a laboratory. The zygote (fertilized egg) is cultured for 2-6days in a growth medium and is then transferred to the same or another woman’s uterus, with the intention of establishing a successful pregnancy.

The major focus of this article is to reveal to us what kind of food or nutrient to be consumed and those to be avoided during the course of the IVF.


*Foods to be Avoided*

*Cheese*: The cheese must be avoided during IVF pregnancy as they have the risk of listeria infection.

*Artificial Sweeteners*: Read labels of products to check if the artificial sweeteners are present in them. Sweeteners like saccharin must be totally refrained at the time of the In Vitro Fertilization treatment. The non-calorie sweetener, sucralose is said to be safe.

*Saturated Fats*: The foods that are rich in the saturated fats must be avoided during the IVF treatments




*Foods to be Consumed*

*More Water*: The common myth is that water helps to increase the rate of fertility. The experts of fertility suggests people to drink 8 full glasses of pure water daily.

*Fat Content*: It is the unsaturated facts that are good for the body. They can help to digest the food in the body.

*Protein Rich Foods*: The protein rich foods must be added as a part of the In Vitro Fertilization diet, they are needed by the body to produce the hormones and the egg needed for reproduction.




*Carbohydrates Rich Foods*: It is a main source of energy for many daily activities.

*Foods Rich in Zinc*: The zinc helps to maintain the levels of male and female hormones, so foods rich in zinc like nuts, whole grains, lean meat, beans, potatoes.

*Natural Food Diets*: Consuming different variety of fresh and organic food products will boost the health of the reproductive system.
