Raising a Family (2)

Raising a Family (2)
*Raising a Family (2)*

Good morning friends! Welcome to the month of June. 2019 is gradually moving its train. There’s still much time left for us to tie the knots together and achieve goals for the year. May the month of June for us all be a month of remarkable progress.

I was able to establish a foundational basis for my write-up last week Saturday, and I trust we gained something substantial. Raising a family, just like I explained last week has a lot of things attached. And as much as we adore beautiful family pictures, cute babies pre-birthday pictures, pre-wedding and wedding shots etc. You know, the social media is so full of them. We must not also ignore the reality that raising a family comes with a lot of demands. Emotional, financial, nutritional, spiritual, social and cultural demands likewise. However the part I’m building on are the nutritional related demands of raising a family. In case you missed the first series scroll down on our timeline, you’d find it.

Today I’d like to establish quite a number of things
Infants Nutrition
Children Nutrition
Nutrition for Adolescents
Drugs and Alcoholism
Food Fadism

A particular international conference held in 2015, and Michelle Obama was one of the speakers of the conference. I can remember Michelle speaking in that conference about nutrition, she establish something I’d refer to fast… She said “Fries and sodas are sweets foods, junks generally have pleasant taste, I tell my children that even though we can have much access to them, they really cannot sustain us.” This statement became to me a mantra. It is important to know about nutrition before raising a family. So you won’t be eating lot of protein and over feeding your kids with fats. #winks

Infants between the first 6 months are expected to rely solely on breastmilk, it contains are the required nutrients needed for that stage of life. After which, they can have other infant food supplements. Children generally need access to lot of energy and protein at their stage, vitamins and mineral are also much vital in their stage. Adolescents need a very sufficient amount of good food, not junks or empty calories at their stage because of their current stage of development.

Drugs and alcoholism is a very important subject to discuss among teenagers, and these are things quite a number of people don’t prepare for before jumping into marriage. It’s your duty as a parent to give them the best of counsel on topics as such.

Food faddism, an aspect I still hope to be able to write more elaborately anytime soon. This is a culture of sticking to just a kind of food. This is also an eating disorder, which needs to be checked and watched out for in teenagers also. It prevents a person from having access to an overall amount of nutrients. I mean a balanced diet.

Others include anorexia, binge eating etc. Time will not permit me to discuss all.

But in a summary, raising a family has its demands. Be sure you are ready before jumping in. I want to be sure with you, food professionals have lesser issues to solve and not additional issues to solve. While, we visit the motherless babies home and parts of the world with malnourished children, we want to be sure yours are exempted and we have no reason to fear. I can’t wait to see your beautiful family pictures also. Smiles.
