Mental Health |
It's another beautiful 🌺🌺🌸 morning, just 😀 chill, ehn? ... It's gonna be fruitful. Let's just get to the business of the day. 😉
I believe, Diet is a term we are much familiar with already. In the context of my article today, diet has to with the kinds of food that a person or community habitually eats. The truth of the matter is, as long as you are living, you just can’t help but eat. We know food is vital for life-sustenance.
...
Often times, when people are asked about the reasons for taking balanced diet, things like good health, beauty, are being mentioned. In short, most think that the essence of food is just for a healthy physical appearance. But the fact is, it goes a long way than that. Really!
It’s quiet surprising, how much that the foods we eat have the capacity to also affect our minds, or better put, our mental health. Research has revealed that diet is one of factors responsible for the level of depression quite a number of people tend to experience.
You’ve heard about eating well to improve heart health and reduce the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure and certain cancers, but what about taking care of your mind? A few simple dietary changes may boost cognitive function and reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders. When most people think of boosting their brain power, they think of learning something new or engaging in thoughtprovoking debate.
As it turns out, one of the best ways to improve your mental health is through your gut. Like your brain, the gut has its own nervous system, which sends information to the brain via the vagus nerve. This helps explain why you might feel queasy when you’re nervous or stressed. Just as the brain impacts the gut, what we put in our gut can impact the functioning of the brain.
So cultivate healthy eating. It benefits the body, it benefits the mind.
