Ginger

Ginger is a flowering plaints whose rhizome ginger root or ginger is widely used as a spice and a folk medicine.
Although used in traditional medicine and as a dietary supplement, there is no good evidence that consuming ginger or its extract has any effect on human health. 
Raw ginger is 79% water, 18% carbohydrate 2% protein and 1% fat. 

Adverse effects 
Allergic reactions to ginger generally result in a rash. Although generally recognized as safe, ginger can cause heartburn and other side effects, particularly if taken in powdered form. It may adversely affect individuals with gallstone and may interfere with the effects of anticoagulants, such as warfin or aspirin.

Health Benefits 

 A unique fragrance and flavor of ginger comes from its natural oils, the most important of which is gingerol. Gingerol is  the main bioactive compound in ginger. It is responsible for most of ginger’s medicinal properties. Ginger is high in gingerol, a substance with powerful anti-flammatory and antioxidant properties 

Ginger helps relieve nausea and vomiting for people undergoing certain types of surgery. It is also effective when it comes to pregnancy – related nauseas such as morning sickness. But it recommended that pregnant women who are close to labour or who had miscarriage avoid ginger. Ginger is contraindicated with a history of vaginal bleeding and clothing disorder as well. 

Ginger could also help reduce body mass index (BMI) and blood insulin levels. High blood insulin level are associated with obesity. 

Ginger help with osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a common health problem. 
It involves degeneration of the joints in the body leading to symptoms such as joint pain and stuffiness. 
    
Ginger contains the substance gingerol, which appears to have protective effects against cancer. 

Ginger can protect against age-related damage to the brain. It can also help improve brain function in middle aged women.
Ginger is loaded with nutrients and bioactive compounds that have powerful benefit to our body and brain.
