Firstly, What is Soybean?
Soybean or Soyabean is a specie of grain legume, cultivated in many areas of the world widely grown for it's edible bean.
Soybeans are a complete protein comparable in quality with animal protein. Presently, the United States of America is the largest producer of Soybean.
Soybean has potential source of high quality protein and oil, moderate amount of whole soyfoods included as part of a varied and healthful diet may offer health benefits. The scientific name for Soybean is called _Glycine max_.
Soybean can be processed into many different products, these include Soymilk, Cheese, Bread, Biscuit and other products. So Soybean products are recommended by food scientist and other workers of nutritional studies because they are cheap sources of high quality protein.
Benefits of Soybean
* Isoflavones, a substance in soybean have been said to play a crucial role in reducing the symptoms associated with menopause.
* Soybean is also a good source of some minerals and dietary fibre.
* It is a cheap and good source of high quality protein.
* Soyabean oil contains essential fatty acid including linoleic acid.
* Soyabean bean is a good source of lecithin, a natural blend of phospholipids which play an important role in brain and nerve functions.
* Soyabean can be processed into many different products for human consumption, such as Soyamilk, Cheese, Bread, Yoghurt and others products.
